Designed and made by Byard’s Boutique in Derbyshire, this walnut oval serving platter is an original in-house design created to be useful at the table and distinctive enough to leave on display.

The elongated oval shape gives it a character of its own. At approximately 43.2cm long and 13cm wide, it provides room for tapas, olives, nuts, cheeses and small treats while remaining narrow enough to sit comfortably along the centre of a dining table or kitchen counter.

A neatly integrated handle extends from one end, making the platter easy to pick up and providing a practical way to hang it when it is not in use. The handle is part of the overall silhouette rather than a separate fitting, giving the piece its recognisable, flowing shape.

Walnut was chosen for its depth of colour, distinctive markings and naturally warm appearance. Each platter is individually made and finished by us, allowing the grain to remain an important part of the finished design. Variations in colour, figuring and natural markings mean every piece will have its own individual character.

Although created as a serving platter, it need not be kept solely for mealtimes. Use it to arrange oils, salt and seasonings beside the hob, gather frequently used items on a kitchen worktop or create an orderly place for smaller belongings on a desk, console table or sideboard.
