How long does one fill last in a 20cm (8-inch) pot?
There is no fixed refill interval for this design. Pot size, compost, temperature and your plant’s water needs all affect how quickly the water is used. Check the water level and compost daily when you first use it, then refill according to your plant’s needs. An empty reservoir alone does not mean the compost needs more water.
How do I start using it?
Fill the spike with water and gently insert the pointed end into the compost. Choose a spot with room around the roots and keep the filling opening accessible. Do not force it through a tightly packed root ball. Check the compost as well as the reservoir while you learn how it performs.
Which plants might it suit?
It may suit plants that prefer evenly moist compost, such as many indoor ferns, provided the compost stays moist rather than waterlogged. Use a pot with drainage holes.
