Description

Stop Parkin’ and Start Livin’ is a powerful and deeply personal book written by naturopath John C. Coleman, following his own recovery journey after being diagnosed with Stage IV Parkinson’s disease and early-stage Multiple System Atrophy.

Drawing on his background in naturopathy and decades of clinical experience, John shares a holistic, lifestyle-focused approach that explores the many factors he believes played a role in his recovery. The book takes readers from the moment of diagnosis through to practical considerations around day-to-day living, offering insight into how stress, diet, environmental factors, and emotional wellbeing can influence quality of life.

Rather than focusing on a single solution, the book explores a broad range of topics including:

  • Stress and emotional health

  • Diet and hydration

  • Household and environmental chemicals

  • Relaxation, contemplation, and meditation

  • Exercise and movement

  • Sexuality and relationships

  • Medication alongside complementary approaches

  • Naturopathic principles and remedies

  • The author’s Aqua Hydration formulas, which he describes as an important part of his own recovery process

Thousands of copies of the book have been sold worldwide, and readers from across the globe have attended John’s workshops and lectures. Today, John continues to travel internationally, speaking to health organisations and mentoring individuals living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions.

This book is written as a message of hope, empowerment, and self-advocacy, encouraging readers to explore what wellness may look like for them.
