Osage Wood Serving Platter with Blue Stoneware Bowls – 61cm

Made over a full day in our Derbyshire studio, this osage wood serving platter brings together a shaped wooden base, three pale blue stoneware bowls and a matching stoneware inset. The work is in the fit as much as the finish: each stoneware element sits in its own recess, bringing the separate pieces together in one serving arrangement.

Fill the bowls with olives, chutneys and dips, then arrange cheeses, crackers or small bites around them. Each accompaniment has its own place, keeping wet and dry foods separate. Pale blue stoneware provides a soft contrast to the natural timber, with the wood grain remaining a feature of the piece.

At 61cm long and approximately 4.13kg, this is a substantial centrepiece for the table. Its long, narrow proportions suit a tasting selection or an antipasti spread, with enough presence to become the starting point for a supper with friends.
