Description
Description
These are for a table that is meant to be used properly. At a generous 40cm wide, this set of four handwoven seagrass placemats gives dinner plates, serving dishes and layered place settings a substantial natural base.
The tightly braided seagrass has a warm, textural finish, while the scalloped edge breaks up the round shape with a softer, petal-like outline. They bring interest to the table without the need for busy tableware: pair them with plain stoneware, linen napkins, glasses and wooden serving boards and let the weave do the work.
Large enough to make an impact even when left on the table between meals, these placemats are equally useful for everyday family dining and a more generously laid table when guests are round.
