The unglazed terracotta vessel is handmade by artisans from Dalit communities in India. Slight differences in colour, texture and finish are part of the making process rather than faults. Purchases support the organisation’s work with street children and underserved families.

Candle Care and Safety

Terracotta is naturally porous and can transfer heat or traces of wax. Always place the candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant and non-flammable surface, preferably with a protective candle plate underneath.

• Read and retain the safety information supplied with the candle
• Trim all three wicks before relighting, following the length stated on the product label
• Keep the wax pool clear of matches, wick trimmings and other debris
• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep
• Keep away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials
• Do not position beneath shelving or enclosed surfaces
• Leave at least 10cm between this and other burning candles
• Do not touch or move the pot while the candle is lit or the wax remains hot
• Discontinue use if the terracotta becomes cracked or damaged
• Follow the maximum burning-time instructions shown on the candle label

Reusing the Terracotta Pot

Allow the candle and pot to cool completely before removing the remaining wax and wick fittings. Do not pour melted wax down a sink.

Clean the vessel carefully and allow it to dry thoroughly. When using it as a planter, add an appropriate liner or drainage layer and continue protecting water-sensitive surfaces underneath.

Unless separately confirmed as food-safe, reuse the pot for plants or decorative storage rather than serving food.
