Description

A serious tasting board for serious food — made for cheese, charcuterie, antipasti, breads and the sort of counter display people stop to look at.

This Grand Deli Tasting Board with Bowls & Slate Insets is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted wooden sharing board, made in England and designed with scale, texture and presentation in mind. At over 1.2 metres long and weighing approximately 10.5kg, this is not a small serving board to tuck in a drawer. It is a substantial tasting platter made to anchor a table, deli counter, cheesemonger’s display or grazing setup.

The hand-shaped wooden surface has a distinctive rock-carved texture, giving the board a rugged, sculptural feel while still keeping its purpose firmly practical. Four integrated bowls are recessed into the board, giving space for olives, chutneys, nuts, pickles, dips, crackers or tasting accompaniments. Two slate insets add contrast and create useful presentation areas for cheeses, cured meats, pâté, bread, tasting notes or featured produce.

This is the kind of piece that would work beautifully in a high-end deli, farm shop, cheese counter, vineyard tasting room, restaurant, supper club or private dining setting. It is equally suited to generous home entertaining, especially for long dining tables, kitchen islands and grazing boards that need real presence.

Use it for cheese tastings, charcuterie displays, antipasti, breads, oils, chutneys, fruit, crackers and small accompaniments. The long format gives plenty of room to build a generous spread, while the bowls and slate sections help keep the presentation organised rather than crowded.

This piece is one of a kind. The item shown in the photographs is the exact piece you will receive.

Care Instructions

Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly after cleaning. Do not put in the dishwasher. Do not soak. Avoid harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners and prolonged contact with standing water.

When using the board for food, it is best suited to dry foods and low-moisture serving. For oily, wet or strongly coloured foods, we recommend using parchment, small dishes, liners or the integrated bowls where appropriate.

The slate insets can be wiped clean gently after use. Avoid dropping or knocking the slate areas with hard utensils.

What Can I Use It For?

This grand tasting board is ideal for:

  • Cheese tasting displays
  • Charcuterie boards
  • High-end deli counter presentation
  • Farm shop food displays
  • Cheesemonger tasting boards
  • Antipasti
  • Olives and pickles
  • Chutneys and relishes
  • Nuts and crackers
  • Breads and breadsticks
  • Pâté and accompaniments
  • Vineyard or drinks tasting pairings
  • Grazing tables
  • Supper clubs
  • Private dining
  • Large dining table centrepieces

It is best suited to dry foods, low-moisture foods and food presentation. It is not intended for soups, liquids or very wet foods directly on the wooden surface.

Why Choose a Grand Deli Tasting Board?

This is a board made for presentation as much as serving. The scale gives it impact, the bowls make it practical, and the slate insets give contrast for cheese, charcuterie and tasting layouts.

For a deli, farm shop, cheesemonger or food-led retail display, it offers a more memorable way to present produce than a standard tray or flat board. For home entertaining, it creates a ready-made centrepiece for long tables, grazing evenings and generous gatherings.

The rock-carved wooden surface gives the piece a strong, tactile character, while the integrated bowls and slate sections help keep the layout useful. It is a working serving board, but it also has enough presence to become part of the setting.
